What Does Tilapia, Foothills, and a Chef Have In Common?
They are all mentioned in this post! Ok, I know… it’s a stretch, I really just couldn’t think of a title for this post 😀 So much has been happening lately, it’s hard to pick which piece would be the best to dive into. Family Gary (Melissa’s brother) and Kristin have had a son named…

Death Rate of Women Giving Birth in Haiti
I have Google alerts setup for articles related to Haiti. I came across an article which was pretty hefty. It reminds me of why Melissa and I are here in Haiti and supporting Heartline. One of the cornerstones to Heartline is the Maternity Center and the programs they provide. Women can enter the program during…

Haiti Protest in My Neighborhood
When I think of protesting, I think of doing it for a major cause. Maybe like the march on Washington for jobs and freedom where Martin Luther King, Jr. gave the famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Water is Found
Water was found! This is near the five Heartline houses that were built in an area now being called “Jerusalem 7”. Before this well was drilled by Living Water the community would need to walk over a mile away for a well. This will be a huge help for this community.

Port Au Prince Fellowship
This is my second church service I have attended in Haiti. Port Au Prince Fellowship is possibly the only English church in the city and thus attracts American visitors on any given Sunday. They began ‘offering’ and the first thing the pastor says to the many visitors, “We don’t want your money. If you do…

One Day at a Time
Today was our first day on our own at the guesthouse. Crazy, but good. We have been working well as a team to figure things out and get done what needs to be done. We are trying to only worry about today and take each situation as it comes. The Bible says, “Do not worry…

Pictures of Port Au Prince
This was probably the most shocking and overwhelming part of our journey. As described in a previous post, it was much worse than we expected. I should preface this post by saying that we visited Haiti for a week. We have tried our best to recall and repeat the information as accurately as possible. Haiti…
