Two Week Notice

IMG070.jpg It’s going to be hard leaving PTC.  My time at PTC has been so great.  I would recommend it to anyone looking for a job.  There are so many people that realize we are all working toward a common goal and we are willing to help each other out in each the challenging tasks that come up from day to day.  It is a great culture to be a part of.  I know working at other companies you will not always find this type of openness and helpfulness.

My “Leaving PTC Email”
—————————————————————————-

Friends,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that I am leaving my position at PTC.  This was not an easy decision to make, on my part. The past seven years have been very rewarding. I’ve enjoyed working for PTC and the many teams I have been involved with.

I joined PTC back in 2004 and have many fond memories of the accomplishments we did back then and more recently with the latest development.  Thank you for the support, guidance, and encouragement you have provided me during my time at PTC. This company has surely given a lot of benefits and the most valuable among them being amazing colleagues like you.  I would like to convey my thanks to all of you by writing this letter for being so amazing.  I would like to mention how grateful I have been to be a part of the Client Architecture team.  I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to work together.

My wife and I are moving to serve in Haiti for a period.  As we visited and learned more about Haiti, our hearts were broken.  It seemed unfathomable that such conditions could exist in a nation that sat only two hours off of America’s shores.  For this season in our lives, we are going to help and serve in this nation.

If it was not for us feeling strongly to help in Haiti, I would have loved to stay at PTC for as long as you would have had me.  It has been a great place to work with wonderful people, and I cannot say enough great things about working here.

Please keep in touch, I can be reached at my personal email address (<REMOVED>).  You can also follow us via our two blogs: (1) Tech blog: www.ryanalberts.com (2) Haiti blog: www.ryanandmelissaalberts.com.

My last day is July 22nd.  In my absence, please direct questions to <removed>.

I look forward to a day when our paths cross again,

–          Ryan

  1. Found this quote which seems like an appropriate send off “If ten men are carrying a log — nine of them on the little end and one at the heavy end — and you want to help, which end will you lift on?”

I think we all know you would eagerly take up the heavy one and thereby make the best possible difference.

God be with you both in your journey. We will miss you and we wish you the best!

    • Jen – thank you for the kind and encouraging words! Had such a great time working with you! Hard to leave. Cannot believe tomorrow is the last day already!

  2. I was in Cardinal Chiropractic (Shoreview, MN) today and Jane and Dr Steve told me about you. I just returned from my second visit to Haiti with “Healing Haiti”. I would love to be on your list for updates about your adventures in Haiti. I have been happily reading your entries, they are wonderful and I can relate to many of the things you bring up, fortunately or unfortunately I had to return home after 1 week, but Iam coming back in April 2012 with a Medical Mission team.

    • Marilyn – That is awesome that you just were here in Haiti! It is such a small world! Healing Haiti will sometimes come to Port Au Prince Fellowship for church which is where I attend. I can add you to our list if you like by using this current email address or you can add yourself by going to http://ryanandmelissaalberts.com and add your info on the right hand side of the page under the box “Sign Up For Updates”.
