Baggage Arrival in Port Au Prince

We started off this journey with open arms.  Friendly faces, helpful people and welcoming smiles.  We came the first day with out any of our checked luggage which equaled four bags worth.  Basically our lives for the next two years!  We really just laughed about it.  Allison at the guest house called it a “rite of passage” to Haiti.

When I arrived at the airport to look for the luggage, they took me back into this room.  I searched and searched for the luggage. Nothing… my heart sank.  I went through every bag.  Eventually, I asked the airline agent if I could look around the airport.  There in the middle of a big pile of bags was one of ours!  I kept looking and eventually found all four bags!  It was glorious!

We are getting the run down of the guest house!  A bit overwhelming!  Heartline is doing some incredible things that I even forgot from the last time we were here in Haiti.  I look forward to sharing some of those stories soon.

I must go finish unpacking!

  1. Glad you guys made it there safely! I can’t quite imagine getting everything I would need (or think I need) for two years in only four suitcases (but then you probably don’t need much in the way of warm sweaters and long pants in Haiti, so that probably helps). Take care and keep the updates coming!

  2. I’m glad you made it safely and found your luggage!! Thank you so much for your updates as it is good to keep in touch. God Bless You! Eunice
