Just Arrived: Eliana Grace

Eliana Grace.  6 lbs 11.5 oz.

Born 11/19/2013 at 3:12a

Melissa started contractions at 10pm.  We thought it was going to take a while before needing to go in to the birth center but at 2am-ish Melissa started feeling like the baby started pushing.  Realizing that this was different from the previous contractions we rushed to the birth center 30 minutes away going over the speed limit and passing a few red-lights.

We arrived at 2:45pm and the baby was born shortly after at 3:12am!

We are all home now at Dean & Cheryl’s place (so thankful for their hospitality as we continue to transition back from Haiti).

Melissa’s cooking dinner now… haha, just checking to see if you were still reading :-D.

  1. We are ALL very excited for you. Lydia is a little ticked off you won’t be letting her hold your baby because you no longer live near us but I can help her get over it. CONGRATS you guys!!!! Amazingly fast first baby.

  2. Congratulations!!! She is absolutely beautiful!! So excited to hear that she is finally here and that everything went well. Can’t wait to meet her!!

  3. Very excited to hear the news and see the pictures of Eliana. Can’t wait to see her in person and hold her. See is very cute. Looks like she is perfect. Enjoy these first few weeks. They go by quickly. Take lots of pictures….like that isn’t going to happen.

  4. Melissa, Good work, no meds! You are amazing and so is your precious beauty. She was eager to see her parents! Look forward to seeing you the middle of December if all goes accordingly. Thanks Ryan for the pics! Those Daddy qualities are already showing. Love you all and sending hugs of joy from Grama, Carolyn

  5. Congratulations! Melissa you look amazing for having just having given birth (you too Ryan 🙂 ), and Eliana is beautiful! Our kids were all born fast as well – with Mikayla we were at the hospital for 4 hours, Kylie 2, and I thought Matt might be a curbside delivery! Being a parent is … indescribable – there are highs, lows, and in betweens. Try to always be present in the moment, not always looking to the future, the time flies by. Enjoy, and God’s Blessings to you all!

  6. WOW! Such a beautiful family. Congratulations. Alissa, you must be a natural at giving birth, with such a short labor. Way to go!
